Salmon with Spinach and Grapefruit

Since I was young, I have always had a great personal interest in nutrition and cooking, and was intrigued by the healing power of food. My own experience with Celiac disease/gluten intolerance was what transformed my passions into a career.

I was inspired to become the practitioner I had needed when I was sick. My drive is to help others find their way back to health, as I did. I believe that food is much more than just nourishment; it can be an invaluable tool for healing, for the soul, body and mind.

My experience in the field of nutrition includes working for a number of years at Foundations Family Nutrition, previously located in Cambridge and Newton, MA. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from McGill University and graduated, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Bridgeport with a Master’s of Science in Human Nutrition.

I am a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) practitioner. This means I have voluntarily met the strict educational and experience requirements set forth by the Certification Board for Nutrition Specialists (CBNS), and passed a proctored examination. The CBNS is an independent nutrition credentialing organization whose aim is to raise the standards of nutrition practice across the United States.

I have also undergone additional professional training with such organizations as the Institute for Functional Medicine and Metametrix Clinical Laboratory.

My background in science, biochemistry and nutrition is complemented by my extensive experience as a gourmet cook. This means that I can offer a comprehensive, holistic nutrition assessment, in addition to providing practical advice for application, including recipe ideas and tips for menu planning, food preparation and grocery shopping.
